It’s safe to say washi tape has a special place in my heart. It’s probably the most versatile craft material going around, so simple to apply it to any surface and is just plain fun to play with, so I was pretty excited to hear that Scotch® Australia has just launched their new creative tape range. Dozens and dozens of different tapes in fun patterns and colours, easily accessible from stores like Coles, BigW and Officeworks. Ohh yes. So excited by the rise in cool crafty supplies here in lately!
I was lucky enough to be asked by the team at Scotch® to have a play with their new range as they launch their Facebook App to “Get Creative” with Scotch® Expressions Tape. There’s some awesome prizes up for grabs. Just upload a photo of your craftiness using their tape to the app to be in with a chance to win one of 6 $500 Westfield vouchers, or just vote for your fave DIY project to enter for an instant win of either a Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 Camera or a Scotch® Expressions Tape pack.
Above is the cactus wall art I whipped up for my home office. I’m so in love with it! I’ve not personally used wall stickers before in my own home but I love the idea of temporary wall art, especially being a renter. Can’t go wrong with more plants around the home and I think the geo print on this lime green masking tape looks awesome with the cactus shape! Here’s how to make your own…
- 1 x Lime Interlock Masking Tape
- 1 x Pink Masking Tape
Step 1 – Start with your pot plant base, making the tape strips larger in size as you go up. I went with the masking tape products because I loved the width and colours available but any of the different tapes would be fine to use.
Step 2 – Now to start your cactus. I cut the triangles as I went along so that I knew what size / shape I wanted. Start with a few pieces for the base of your plant.
Step 2 – Bring your pieces out a bit wider, this will be your rough width for the whole plant.
Step 3 – I cut some bigger sized triangles with a long edge and worked out where I’d like my 3 cactus stems to sit. Then it’s nice and easy to just fill in the middle pieces with smaller triangles.
So easy right? Think of the wall sticker possibilities!! Have a great week all
